David Mercer '88 shared some great memories with us via email this month.
He writes: "I just came across your featured classes section in the web site today. I was at SAS from third grade until I graduated in '88. Last year, through sleuthing through the website, I came across my fifth and sixth grade teacher, Mr. Cassetty. He's now in Oregon, but back in the early '80s, he taught in Beta. He was actually the only teacher I had for both years in an LC. (My teachers switched in Saturn between 3rd and 4th grade, and in Alpha between 7th and 8th).
I recall one of those years (I think my sixth grade, which would have been '81–'82), we overflowed out of the Beta LC for some reason (I don't recall why––maybe related to construction of the new pod that housed Omega and Sigma?), and ended up having our class in a room in the back of the library for a semester or so. I wonder if you could dig up the Memory Book from that year and post Mr. Cassetty's class and see if I recognize anyone. Thanks."
